The operation and function of the Student Government Association would not be possible without the dedication and commitment of student leaders who are willing to serve on behalf of their fellow students to represent student interests at all levels of decision making at the university.
There are many opportunities to participate in student government, and at many different levels. Students may chose to run in the spring student elections for a senator seat or an executive officer position. Periodically throughout the year vacancies may need to be filled on the legislative or executive branch, which will be followed by an open call to the campus community for applications.
Additionally, each year the Student Government Association must appoint students to serve as student representatives and voting members on over a dozen university committees, with each committee responsible for a separate specialized area of campus governance. SGA organizes the Emerging Leader Program as an opportunity for first year students to gain leadership training and development.
Navigate the links on the left for more information and announcements on any open positions in SGA. Please check back frequently as positions are filled on a rolling basis and many positions open at the end of each semester. Generally most positions will be open for applications at the end of Spring semesters after elections in early April.
