Meetings and Legislation
Be in the know. Student Government Association meetings are open to the public.
Meetings
Meetings of the Student Government Association take place every other Wednesday throughout the academic year when classes are in session. At meetings, members of the Association report on progress being made on numerous initiatives, and discuss issues of concern to the student body and the University community.
All SGA Meetings are open to the public. Portions of a meeting may be held in Executive Session when SGA is addressing issues involving private information, such as personnel issues
Legislation
There are three forms of legislation: resolutions, bills, and amendments. Resolutions can state an opinion of the current Association and/or cause the Association to take specific actions, but do not pass on to future Associations. Bills may also state an opinion of the Association and cause the Association to take specific actions, but may apply to all future SGA administrations if applicable. Bills are also used to authorize expenditures from the SGA Budget. Amendments change the SGA governing documents.
